Megadeth sozialkritisch?

Naja, ob Megadave für Bush ist, weiß ich nicht, bezweifle ich eher. Allein das Cover von TSHF spricht da ja Bände.
Mein Eindruck ist eher, er thematisiert generell die Zustände in Politik, Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft. Insofern, ja er schreibt sozialkritische Texte.

Inwieweit die jetzt so ernst zu nehmen sind, ist natürlich gerade bei den frühen Songs ob Daves damaliger nicht gerade sozial-förderlicher Lebensweise fraglich. Auch sonst sollte man im allgemeinen Texte dieser Sorte in der Musiklandschaft nicht immer für bare Münze nehmen.
Es ist nämlich oft auch ein gehöriges Stück Imageaufbau und meist noch ein deutlich gewichtigeres Stück fehlende thematische Kompetenz, um nicht zu sagen, Wichtigtuerei, dabei.

EDIT: Ach ja, noch mal bzgl. Bush. Ich denke, bei Dave scheint bei möglichen entsprechend zu deutenden Äußerungen eher der patriotische Amerikaner, und das sind die Amis nun mal, durch. Er sieht sich und sein Land angegriffen und will sich das nicht gefallen lassen. Wie man das anstellt, ist halt die Frage. Ich glaube aber nicht, daß er nach den letzten Jahren immer noch blauäugig genug wäre, Bush bedingungslos zu folgen (natürlich nur angenommen, er hätte ihn vor Jahren so unterstützt; wissen wir ja nicht).

Also ich denke aber das Dave, trotz seines wahrlich nicht sehr Sozialen Lebenstandartes in frühen Jahren, dennoch einiges an politischem Wissen hat. Was das an geht denke ich ist er interresiert und auch nicht dumm. Und ich schätze ihn als normalen Amerikaner ein der aber keinen besonderen Stolz auf sein Land hegt. Ich denke da für ist er zu sehr in Argentinien verknallt

Und politisch denke ich ist Dave ehr ein Demokrat als ein Republikaner.

Aus früheren Interviews weiß man zumindest, dass Dave den Irak Krieg unterstützt hat. Er hat seine Meinung aber glaub ich wieder geändert.

BloodbatH: Nun ja, ich wollte mit dem Hinweis auf den möglichen Patriotismus Dave nicht als Hinterwäldler oder dergleichen hinstellen. Ich finde Patriotismus ist was ganz normales in einem normalen Land. Bzgl. Deutschland will ich nur mal einen meiner Lieblingsgeschichtsautoren, nämlich Sebastian Haffner, zitieren, der meint, wenn die Deutschen ihren Nationalstolz aufgeben würden, " [...] wissen sie gar nicht, wie sie damit Hitlers letzten Willen erfüllen.".
Die Gratwanderung ist dabei, Patriotismus nicht den gesunden Menschenverstand überdecken zu lassen. Eine Neigung, die leider Amerikaner in Krisenzeiten regelmäßig überwältigt und damit teilweise großen Schaden anrichtet. Aber das nur nebenbei.
Vielleicht gibt es auch bei Dave so was (ähnlich könnte ich mir das bei Hetfield vorstellen). Generell halte ich viel von Mustaine, vor allem kreativ. Neben memorablen und originellen Riffs und künstlerischem Anspruch (ein Grund unter einigen anderen, warum Megadeth kommerzieller Erfolg in größerem Ausmaß versagt wurde) haben mich irgendwie auch immer seine Videos fasziniert (gerade jetzt mit der Arsenal-DVD ist das noch mal schön nachzuvollziehen). Dem in nichts nach stehen natürlich auch einige seiner Texte, oft sehr direkt, aber nicht plump, ungewöhnliche Themen und ungewöhnliche Ansätze (wie z.B. Sweating Bullets). Besonders liegt mir irgendwie seine Art von Sprechgesang wie in o.g. Song, Dread And The Fugitive Mind oder The World Needs A Hero. Seine Art, zu betonen und nuancenreich seine Stimme zu nutzen, gefällt mir weit besser als manche Gesangsleistungen (man schaue sich nur Rude Awakening an).

Was ich hingegen partout nicht glauben will, ist, daß er eher Demokrat wäre. Das würde ihn viel zu sehr festlegen. Mag sein, daß er Bush nicht mag, das heißt aber nicht, daß er dann Demokrat sein muß. Wie gesagt, ich glaube Dave steht da eher unabhängig von irgendeiner Gruppierung. Ist wie in Deutschland, wenn man nicht die CDU oder die SPD will. Na gut, hier kann man dann guten Gewissens noch eine kleiner Partei wählen, in Amerika gleicht das ja einer rausgeworfenen Stimme. Im Zweifelsfall würde er vielleicht für die Demokraten votieren, aber nur um Bush los zu werden.

Naja ich sagte ja auch das er ehr ein Demokrat wäre als ein Republikaner...das heist ja nicht das er jetzt gleich mit Hillary ins Bett springt...

Fakt ist er konnte den Bush gegenkandidat nicht leiden und hat sich deswegen für Busch ausgesprochen

Das meinte ich ja. Demokraten haben in Amerika vielfach den Anstrich von nichtsnutzigen, weichen, nicht gerade tatkräftigen Spinnern, die zwar nett sind, aber im Endeffekt nur Mist bauen.

Nur wer wirklich Republikaner- bzw. Bush-Hasser ist, wählt die Demokraten.

Naja das ist aber jetzt auch wieder extrem zugespitzt ausgedrückt...

Die letzte Strophe macht mir allerdings ein bischen "Angst". Bin da nicht so ganz einer meinung mit Dave.
